The Graem Yates Collection of Presidential Portraits
The son of a sharecropper, Graem Yates is a graduate of the P. K. Yongue Laboratory School at the University of Florida; the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida; and the executive program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is widely known for his paintings of corporate executives. He also illustrated and wrote This I Know, a collection of stories behind 12 gospel hymns. He prepared a mural on the life of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Mr. Yates is a Distinguished Lecturer of the Strom Thurmond Institute. He lives in Sarasota, Florida. The descriptions presented below each portrait represent Mr. Yates' attributions to the presidents and they do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Strom Thurmond Institute or Clemson University.
