Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test

Introduction

The Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test (PACT) is South Carolina's means of assessing progress toward national educational standards. This site examines school-level performance on PACT, and addresses the impacts of poverty on achievement.

Because this research examines PACT performance, only schools participating in PACT testing of students in grades 3 through 8 are included. The majority of these are elementary and middle schools, however some high schools include students in relevant grades.
