Ada Lou Steirer serves on the steering committee of the S.C. Turning Point project.

Vision Statement:    To transform and strengthen South Carolina's capacity to protect and improve the public's health by merging professional expertise and community wisdom with political will.

Mission Statement:    To strengthen the infrastructure of public health in South Carolina.

South Carolina Turning Point is a public/private partnership of community advocates, state health officials, government leaders, and members of the business, medical, faith and academic communities.
 
South Carolina Turning Point is a state/local initiative to enhance South Carolina's infrastructure for public health. Turning Point partners have come together to transform and strengthen South Carolina's capacity to protect and improve the public's health.
 
South Carolina Turning Point is a vision of healthy people living in healthy communities. In order to make this happen, the initiative is reaching out to a broad array of state and community stakeholders to identify areas of cooperation and common interest.
 
South Carolina Turning Point is an interactive process of merging community wisdom and professional expertise with political will to address health issues in South Carolina.
 
Community wisdom:   recognizes the important contributions of those with expertise.
Professional expertise:   recognizes the importance of community wisdom.
Political will:   includes commitments from public policy leaders, community groups, education, business, faith and medical communities and others to improve the public's health.
