A large set of map graphics is provided. Graphics are simpler than the PDF maps and posters, with no annotation, no titles, no borders, etc. This allows the user more flexibility. There are printable and on-screen versions of each. Within each set, graphics are all compatible with each other, in that they are all the same sizes, lining up exactly with each other, and having the same base map colors and appearances.

All graphics show the 8-county region and are in horizontal, or landscape, orientation.

The map graphics are provided here in 2 options of size and format. One set is for quality printing and the other is for making on-screen graphics.

Each of the sets contains 30 map graphics, as follows:
  • base map showing no developed land (1)
  • 1990 developed land and 2000 developed land (2)
  • predicted developed land every 5 years at the 5:1 growth ratio (6)
  • transitions between each of the above, with previously developed land red and next date yellow (7)
  • 2030 predicted developed land at each of the alternate growth ratios (4)
  • transitions between each of above alternate ratios (4)
  • 2030 predicted developed land at each growth ratio compared to 2000 (5)
  • 2030 predicted developed land comparing 1:1 and 5:1 growth ratios (1)
On-screen

For SCREEN-SIZED DISPLAYS: These map graphics are 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high and should be suitable for many on-screen display and digital projector applications. These graphics have a black background, which works well for presentations, as opposed to the larger TIFF images below with the white background.
This set is offered in the GIF image file format. GIF is a compressed format, offering small file size for quicker on-screen viewing and portability.

Large Printable

For PRINTING: These map graphics are 9" x 6.5" at 300 ppi, suited for printing on 11 x 8.5" paper with 1" margins. They have a white background, making them better for printing on paper than the screen-sized graphics with the black background. These files are 15.4 MB each and have been compressed (using Windows zip compression) to save space and facilitate downloading. Open in Photoshop and other graphics software.
