"People in Progress," an initiative of the Business Partnership between Anderson Area Medical Center and McCants Middle School in South Carolina, a class of thirty-one 8th graders wrote and published nine health-related brochures.
"Writing about Jobs," a project that involved students in researching and publishing a booklet that described employment opportunities for Piedmont Technical College graduates of the Office Systems Technology program.
"Writing for the Community in Vermont," a workshop for teachers, adult literacy groups, and students on how to set up and fund Writing for the Community programs, funded jointly by Write to Change and Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Foundation.
"The Mosquito Coast," a health-related collaborative project with Write to Change, St. James Elementary School, and Archibald Rutledge Academy in McClellanville, South Carolina. Students produced and presented locally a set of materials that included posters, games, and fact sheets related to environmentally responsible mosquito control.
"The Gill's Creek Project," with a 7th grade science class, Write to Change, and the Department of Health and Environmental Control collaborated to study and write about the wetlands and the watershed near Dent Middle School, Columbia, South Carolina.
Garrett Academy of Technology, Charleston, South Carolina, worked with the "Second Chance Club," a research and publishing collaborative involving teenage parents, Write to Change, and physicians from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Ninth Graders in Dallas, Texas, worked with health care organizations such as the American Red Cross and the American Diabetes Association to revise public awareness documents for young audiences.
