This team of a management information professor, a judge of the Tainan District Court, and two computer programmers, visited the U.S. for three weeks under the auspices of the Visiting International Scholars program and was financed by the National Science Council of the Republic of China. The team was in the process of upgrading a computer information system in use in the Tainan District Court to an integrated PC network for that court system.k They observed how computers supported the U.S. judicial system. The Institute arranged visits to eight federal, state, and local judicial offices. Information obtained on this visit assisted the team in completing an integrated PC network for the Tainan Court system. IN 1992 THIS SYSTEM WAS IN ALL JUDICIAL COURTS IN TAIWAN. Lectures to selected management (computer supported) classes. Participated in an open forum for all Taiwan students enrolled at Clemson University. Explained their system to state and local judicial offices. In some cases the system they were developing was superior to those in use in the U.S.
