LINC has seven goals that directly benefit its younger and older participants and their communities. These goals are the driving force behind the project.
To encourage local community service agencies to coordinate efforts targeted at improving the lives of youth and older adults.
To provide opportunities for older adults to develop new meaning and purpose in their lives and to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
To provide opportunities for older adults and youth to develop an appreciation and knowledge of each other.
To provide opportunities for youth to see themselves as contributing positively to their communities.
To provide opportunities for youth to increase their sense of self-worth.
To develop a process to provide positive adult role models for youth.
To improve the quality of life in local communities through intergenerational service learning projects.
